Pre School Gymnastics
The pre school awards are an introduction into the world of gymnastics and are for children aged 3+yrs. They are designed give children the opportunity to become involved in gymnastics in a safe and progressive manner, ensuring that their involvement is fun and long lasting. There are over 40 different activities for pre-school gymnasts to develop their new skills on before graduating to core proficiency award scheme. Pre-school gymnastics focuses on physical, literacy and movement skills.
Core Proficiency Awards
The Core Proficiency Awards cover 8 sets of 10 exercises, graded from the simplest level – Award 8, children will begin advancing through the award stages. The core proficiency awards are designed for children aged 5+yrs and follow on from pre-school gymnastics. On each level eight out of the ten moves must be completed in order to progress to the next level. Core proficiency awards focus on developing core skills such as balance, strength, flexibility and co-ordination.
Advanced Proficiency Awards
The Advanced Proficiency Awards help further develop and progress the skills of young gymnasts are aimed at children aged 11+yrs. Advanced proficiency awards include the following disciplines, vault & rebound, floor, fitness, apparatus, pairs & groups, hand held apparatus and dance & aerobics. Advanced proficiency awards further assist with core fitness as well as strength, power, flexibility and co-ordination.
All children taking part in gymnastics are given the opportunity to participate in the award scheme. Our coaches test at least 1 per annum, this is determined by other club gymnastics events / competitions. We charge £5 per grading, this will include testing, badge and certificate.
